Jobscope Corporation of Greenville, South Carolina is a leading manufacturer of software for capital equipment manufacturers, repair and refurbishment facilities and service centers, and other order-driven businesses. Jobscope decided to rewrite their product in a fourth generation language (4GL) to take advantage of cross-platform independence. Hawthorne Computer Center, Inc. (HCC) started a large programming project for Trident Seafoods Corporation of Seattle, WA. Trident processes fish and seafood for the wholesale market. HCC’s job has been to rewrite and improve this system to run on an HP3000. Trident picked the Speedware 4GL Development System as the language they wanted to use in creating their new system.
