Utilities Migration
Many HP e3000 customers purchased third-party software to complement the features of MPE. These supporting products were not included with the MPE operating system, and in many cases, are not available on non-HP e3000 platforms. When third-party utilities are used extensively in HP e3000 business application environments, they can represent significant migration challenges. We know how to handle, migrate and/or replace these utilities in order to successfully complete a migration project. Speedware can help to identify the available migration paths and can offer expert recommendations for each of your utilities, including:
- File system and administration
- Job scheduling and management
- File backup
- Print spooling system
- Electronic forms
- Data extraction and reporting
- System security
- Networking and storage
- Performance monitoring
- Database management
- Email and fax
- Editors
Speedware provides solutions for all HP e3000 migration challenges, regardless of the scope or complexity. We tackle these challenges one by one, often by partnering with other vendors to design migration solutions or replacement functionalities for our customers.
Certain utilities are easier to migrate than others. As some have become obsolete, it may be necessary to completely replace them with more modern utilities. Others, however, may require careful usage analysis to identify the best replacement option available. Speedware has investigated, found or built migration and replacement solutions for many of the popular third-party utilities encountered in our migration projects. Below are some examples.

Speedware Teams Up With Other Vendors
Speedware's unique approach to addressing utility migration and replacement is unlike that of other solution vendors. We do not limit our involvement by simply referring third-party software and adapting the environment around the software's particularities. Instead, Speedware promotes a teamwork approach whereby third-party software vendors work closely with Speedware's migration team to ensure that their software can co-exist with other technologies used in the application environment.
