Frequently Asked Questions
As a Speedware Beta Site, you'll gain these advantages:
- Use Speedware products before they're released to the public.
- Offer input about the product before it's cast in concrete - make your mark on the software and see your best ideas implemented.
- Interest - Are you keen to get your hands on the newest versions of software?
- Accuracy - Can you commit to providing regular reports of problems you find and enhancements you recommend for the software, documentation and packaging?
- Creativity - Do you want to contribute your suggestions to enhance the quality of Speedware products?
There are two kinds of Beta Site Agreements:
- Annual - an agreement to test all the beta versions of one or more Speedware products that are released within a year. Renewable yearly.
- Limited - an agreement to test a specific version of a specific product until the end of its beta cycle. Renewable for each new product version.
- To become a Beta site, you must be a current Speedware customer and have a valid Customer Support contract.
- Just fill out the Beta Site Application form, and fax it to (514) 747-3380. You can also contact us by sending an email to beta@speedware.com.
- We will then send you a copy of our Beta Site Agreement. This agreement is a binding contract that must be signed by a person in your organization who is authorized to endorse legal documents.
- Sign the Beta Test Agreement and return it by the specified date. Keep a copy for your records.
- We'll ship the software you've agreed to test, licensed for the machines you specified. We'll include a package of test report forms for your Beta cycle and installation keys. You can also find these forms by accessing the Beta Reports Library.
- You should install your Beta software according to instructions as soon as possible. Complete the Beta Software Installation Status report and send it to the Speedware Beta Site Administrator. (Beta Reports Library)
- Set aside an appropriate amount of time to use your Beta software, in an environment where you can monitor its behavior.
- Complete the Beta Software Interval Report and the Software Features Report, and send them together to the Speedware Beta Site Administrator.
- Complete a Beta Software Malfunction Report whenever you encounter a problem with the software. Send it to the Speedware Beta Site Administrator.
- When you find problems, check the KnowledgeBase for possible solutions, hints and tips. Tell us in the Malfunction Report if this information was useful to you. Don't forget to check the documentation and report on it also.
- Don't hesitate to call the Speedware Customer Support Contact Center when you need help. Keep the Beta Site Administrator aware of your progress and your results.
