Process
Time must be taken at the start of the project to define its overall scope, break it up into its component tasks, estimate the resources that will be required to complete it - and ensure adequate budget allocation. Speedware's DMA service helps you manage this crucial planning properly, within approximately 4 to 8 weeks.
Speedware's Professional Services group will go onsite to collaborate with your business and its stakeholders to extract critical application and business data via extensive interviews, system inventory and code analysis activities. The diagram below illustrates the activities and timelines for a typical DMA project.

The DMA service involves a series of data gathering and analysis activities, some performed onsite and some offsite.
| Activities |
- System inventory
- Customer requirements definition
- Evaluation of transition alternatives
- Target software/technology assessment
- Application migration solutions and methodology assessment

- Collaborative Speedware/client team: A project team comprised of actively engaged members from both organizations who participate in the communication plan, client acceptance, knowledge transfer, feedback and lessons learned.
- Tools and techniques: Speedware uses a set of proprietary tools and techniques for data collection and analysis that have been refined and improved based on years of actual migration work.
- Selecting options and recommendations: Speedware will select a methodology that most fully meets the client requirements and prioritize where conflicting requirements exist.
